Phase Overview

In this training phase, Coordinators will provide essential onboarding documentation and gain a foundational understanding of Schools as Centers of Wellness.

Phase Objectives

  1. Provide necessary employment onboarding documentation

  2. Develop understanding of school-based mental health and wellness

  3. Develop general understanding of the intersection and integration of healthcare and education systems

  4. Develop a general understanding of the SCOW Coordinator role and supervisory expectations associated with the role

STEP 1

Receive Job Description

Thoroughly review the job description provided to gain a clear overview of responsibilities and expectations. Develop a basic understanding of the Coordinator role to ensure duties can be performed effectively. This foundational knowledge is crucial for fulfilling the position's requirements and contributing to the team's success.

STEP 2

Compile and complete employment documents

Gather and complete the required employment documents listed below. Submit them for the credentialing process, ensuring all necessary paperwork is in order for proper review and approval.

    • Resume

    • Government-issued photo ID

    • Documentation of current PPD results (TB test)

    • Pocket License (LMFT, LCSW, ACSW, AMFT) if applicable

    • Copy of current certificate of professional insurance

    • Copy of diploma or transcripts from school where degree was obtained

STEP 3

Review Centers of Wellness Website

Explore the Centers of Wellness website to become familiar with its content and resources. Identify specific topics that resonate with you and prepare to share insights during the SCOW Orientation, as this will help facilitate meaningful discussions and enhance your understanding of key wellness concepts.

STEP 4

Submit Documents for Credentialing

(if not already SCHC credentialed)

Complete the necessary documents from the county to move forward in the approval process. This step is necessary in obtaining authorization to provide clinical services in your area. Your timely submission of these documents will help expedite your approval.

STEP 5

Onboarding Support

Understand who to contact for support during the onboarding process. Coordinators are given specific administrative points of contact within the program to facilitate efficient communication and support.
