Phase Overview

This training phase for the Clinician II role aims to teach protocols for successfully closing out the school year. It focuses on supporting clinical supervisees in completing end-of-year transitions for clients. Additionally, it emphasizes collaboration with supervisees to complete the necessary documentation for closing out supervisory relationships for the year.

Phase Objectives

  1. Establish confidence and understanding of Clinician II’s role and responsibilities in supporting development of Schools as Centers of Wellness

  2. Support clinical supervisees in beginning end-of-year transitions for clients

  3. Provide clinical support to supervisees in accordance with licensing status

  4. Collaborate with clinical supervisees to complete necessary documentation for supervisory relationship closeout for the year

STEP 1

Role Development

Navigate the Clinician II role by incorporating diversity, equity, inclusivity, and belonging into professional practices, managing discomfort through introspection and TSEL practices, and participating actively in regional team meetings, SCOW team meetings, professional development, supervision/consultation, and school community events.

    • Continue to navigate Clinician II role and incorporate DEIB framework into work practices and professional engagements

    • Continue to navigate feelings of discomfort through introspection while upholding TSEL practices

    • Attend and collaborate in regional team meetings, program team meetings, professional development and trainings, supervision/consultation, and events within school community

STEP 2

Clinical Oversight and Support

Support supervisees through end-of-year transitions by initiating discussions and planning honorable closures with clients, ensuring referrals to community partners for continuity of care. Update all documentation and referral lists, and conduct monthly documentation office hours. Continue providing oversight to Clinicians as required, including reviewing and signing client documentation promptly, leading weekly group and individual supervision, facilitating case consultation, completing annual evaluations, managing signed forms in Teams, and gathering feedback through end-of-year supervision forms.

    • Support all supervisees with end-of-year transitions by beginning to discuss and plan for honorable closures with clients

    • Ensure supervisees have made proper referrals to community partners for continuity of care for clients that need it

    • Continue providing oversight to Clinicians as required, including reviewing and signing client documentation promptly, leading weekly group and individual supervision, facilitating case consultation, and completing annual evaluations

    • Facilitate monthly documentation office hours

    Supervision for Unlicensed Clinicians (Associate Clinicians)

    • Review, sign, or request revisions on client documentation within 72 hours of submission

    • Lead weekly group supervision for assigned group, maintaining notes and attendance records

    • Lead weekly individual supervision for assigned associate Clinicians

    • Ensure all weekly log forms are signed

    • Complete in-state verification form for each associate Clinician

    • Complete annual evaluations with each associate Clinician (to be completed annually or at the end of the supervisory relationship)

    • Send out end-of-year individual and group supervision feedback forms

    Supervision for Licensed Clinicians (Associate Clinicians)

    • Lead case consultation for assigned group of licensed Clinicians twice per month, maintaining notes and attendance records
