Phase Overview

In this training phase, Coordinators will establish confidence in their role by deepening their understanding of the needs of their assigned districts and school sites. This phase will emphasize refining communication strategies to better identify emerging community needs.

  2. Maintain responsibilities in supporting development of School as Centers of Wellness

  4. Continue supporting school teams

STEP 1

Role Development

Understand the Coordinator's role in transforming schools into Centers of Wellness and serving schools as clients. Continue integrating TSEL practices and the DEIB framework while building authentic partnerships.

    • Continue to navigate Coordinator role and incorporate DEIB framework into practices and professional engagements

    • Continue to navigate through feelings of discomfort through introspection while upholding TSEL practices

    • Attend and collaborate in regional team meetings, program team meetings, professional development and trainings, and events within region

STEP 2

Supporting School Sites as Clients

Collaborate with Clinicians to review and advance action plans aimed at enhancing accountability, strengthening care team collaboration, and supporting schools as clients. Continuously monitor action plan progress to ensure ongoing improvements and alignment with program goals.

    • In collaboration with Clinicians, review progress of action plan(s) to:

      • Strengthen accountability in efforts to achieving core components

      • Strengthen collaboration of care team

      • Support school as client

    • Attend district and school site events for assigned schools

    • Schedule and visit each assigned school site monthly, including other team members (Family Navigators, Clinicians, Clinician II’s, and Career Pipeline as needed)

    • Continuously monitor action plan progress

STEP 3

Mid-Year Integration Check-in

Conduct a mid-year check-in with administrators at each assigned school site. Check-ins should focus on the progress of integration elements, such as program and site protocols for mandated reporting, process for addressing HIPAA & FERPA discrepancies, COST structure implementation, ABC report data, the universal referral process, and billable encounters.

    • Conduct mid-year check-in with school site administration to review progress of integration elements including:

      • Program and site protocols for mandated reporting HIPAA & FERPA as it relates to communications

      • Multidisciplinary systems

      • COST structure

      • ABC report data

      • Universal referral process

      • Billable encounters

      • Confidentiality

      • Clinical supervision model and Associate Clinician requirements

      • Clinical access to student information system (SIS)

STEP 4

Clinician Oversight

Maintain a supportive supervisory relationship with Clinicians, facilitating their participation in all required training and development opportunities while ensuring adherence to program standards.

    • Schedule and facilitate monthly 1:1 with Clinicians

    • Collaborate with Clinician IIs to complete chart reviews

STEP 5

Supporting School Site Team

Regularly communicate with school-based teams to ensure alignment with organizational schedules and minimizing disruptions.

    • Request work plans from team members who work while schools are closed for December holiday break

    • Request work plans from team members who work while schools are closed for spring break

    • Prepare for Mental Health Awareness Month
